As a fourth generation meat cutter, some might say that John’s 24 year (and counting!) career as a butcher was inevitable, but in 1992, the aspiring civil engineer discovered the clean precision and simple beauty of cutting deeply appealing.

Over the last quarter century, John’s cultivated passion for creative meals incorporating nutritious, full-flavored, and organic all-natural ingredients ultimately led him to join the team at Heritage Meats. His commitment to classic methods of butchery, such as the dry aging process and the cutting of whole products on site, ensures you benefit from his extensive knowledge and continue to receive the highest quality that Heritage customers count on.

You, our customers, have helped owners Eugene Vandenberg and Eleanor Cox bring some new and exciting products to the store, from many heat & serve items for busy lifestyles to our international flavours.

Eugene began his career in a retail/wholesale meat processing plant, then ran a sausage kitchen for some time. He also spent time as a grocery store meat manager, and is a connoissuer of good food.

Eleanor has proven retail history as she used to own her own clothing store. Following her love of cooking, she became a head cook at Northern work camps, cooking for over 100 people daily. She honed her skills as a pastier chef for Delta Hotels, and she is extremely passionate about cooking using the finest real ingredients available.

With their combined experience of more than three decades in the food industry, Eugene, Eleanor and their staff are committed to providing exceptional quality and first class customer service.
